My name is Diego Ruiz.
I’m a musician living in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I play piano.
I play classical contemporary music.
I’m pianist on Ensamble Süden.
I’m also a member of Compañía Oblicua.
I play jazz.
I do my own compositions and arrangements mixing jazz, Argentinian folklore, and other stuff.
I recorded a CD named Ceremony with New York based Omar Haddad on guitar. It’s all made of original compositions.
I’m conductor of a jazz Big Band: Saxópatas.
I’m rehearsal pianist at the Estudio Coral de Buenos Aires.
Sometimes I play with my sister, singer Gabi La Malfa.
I teach ear-training and music reading using my mother’s method. (María del Carmen Aguilar.)
I teach piano.
I’m an amateur go player. I rank 5th Dan on the Argentina Go Association. 2008 Iberoamerican Champion. 2000, 2003 y 2006 Argentina representative on the World Amateur Go Championship without much success.
